The Civic Democratic Party (ODS), is the main „center-right“ leading party in the Czech Republic with Mirek Topolánek as the Party Chairman.

„Our goal is an election victory that will not only guarantee our participation in the next government, but also a strong mandate allowing us to carry out our programme“ says Topolánek. ODS wants to implement a number of principal reforms if it forms the next cabinet, including reforms of the tax system as well as the social and health care systems.

Under the leadership of Mirek Topolánek who has replaced the current Czech President Vaclav Klaus, the ODS won the presidential elections and the elections to the European Parliament. In 2004 ODS also scored a resounding victory in Senate and regional elections. Now it is facing the last challenge - after historical victory in June 2006, with the best results ever gained - to form a new coalition government.
